II. Project Title

Provision of Two School Buses (40–50 Seater) for DeMatha English Medium School

III. Background of the School

DeMatha English Medium School, a mission initiative of the Trinitarian Fathers in India, is located in the rural village of Tulsibari in Assam. The school is committed to providing quality, value-based education inspired by the charism of St. John de Matha. Currently, the school serves 576 students from Pre-K to Class 7, with a dedicated team of 40 teaching and non-teaching staff, including six Trinitarian priests (four full-time, two part-time).

IV. Statement of Need: Why Two School Buses?

With growing interest among parents in surrounding areas to enroll their children in a CBSE-affiliated school, there is a pressing need for efficient and safe transportation. Many children from distant villages are unable to attend the school due to a lack of transportation facilities.

By acquiring two school buses with 40–50 seating capacity each, we aim to:

  • Provide safe and reliable transport for students from remote areas.
  • Enhance student enrollment by making education accessible to children from outlying villages.
  • Support working parents who need dependable transportation options for their children.
  • Ensure punctuality and regularity in attendance.

V. Project Objectives

  • To purchase two school buses with 40–50 seat capacity for student transportation.
  • To expand enrollment by catering to students from distant areas.
  • To ensure safe, reliable, and timely transport for students.
  • To reduce student absenteeism caused by transportation challenges.

VI. Estimated Cost of the Project

Item Amount in INR Amount in USD (Approx.)
Two School Buses (40–50 Seater Each) ₹6,000,000 $73,200

VII. Expected Outcomes

  • Increased student enrollment, particularly from remote villages.
  • Enhanced school accessibility for children living far away.
  • Improved attendance and academic performance due to consistent transportation.
  • Strengthened trust and satisfaction among parents regarding school services.

VIII. Conclusion

The provision of two school buses is essential to meet the growing transportation needs of DeMatha English Medium School. These buses will not only improve accessibility but also promote educational opportunities for many children who currently cannot attend due to travel challenges. We kindly seek your support for this vital project, which will significantly impact our school community.
