Installation of a Lift and Supporting Works at DeMatha English Medium School

III. Background of the School

DeMatha English Medium School, a mission initiative of the Trinitarian Fathers in India, is situated in the rural area of Tulsibari in Assam. The school, guided by the charism of St. John de Matha, provides holistic education to 576 students from Pre-K to Class 7. It is supported by 40 teaching and non-teaching staff, including six Trinitarian priests. The school is currently expanding to accommodate growing enrollment and transitioning into a full-fledged high school.

IV. Statement of Need: Why a Lift?

As part of our school’s infrastructure development, we plan to install a Lift in compliance with government policies that mandate accessibility features in educational institutions. This Lift is especially critical for children with disabilities who struggle with mobility across multiple floors. It will also benefit teachers, staff, and visitors with physical challenges.

The Lift will be accompanied by essential supporting works such as MRL SLAB and door facings. These installations will ensure structural safety, functionality, and accessibility. The Lift installation is not merely a convenience but a necessity to promote inclusive education and comply with mandatory infrastructure guidelines.
