II. Project for Establishing a School Auditorium

Background

DeMatha English Medium School is a mission initiative of the Trinitarian Fathers in India, dedicated to transforming the educational landscape in Assam. Inspired by the redemptive charism of St. John de Matha, the school offers holistic education, nurturing children intellectually, emotionally, morally, and spiritually.

Situated in a remote village, the school has become a beacon of hope. However, we currently lack an auditorium, which hinders our ability to conduct:

  • Regular school assemblies for different sections (KG, Classes 1-4, Classes 5-8, High School)
  • Physical training and mass drills, especially during extreme weather
  • Parent meetings every quarter, as required by CBSE
  • Student training programs, cultural activities, and Annual Day celebrations

Due to the absence of a proper facility, we are compelled to make temporary arrangements repeatedly, which is neither sustainable nor cost-effective. More than a luxury, this auditorium has become an essential requirement for our school and community.

III. Objectives of the Project

  • To provide a safe, spacious venue for regular school assemblies, trainings, and cultural events.
  • To facilitate indoor sports activities such as badminton and basketball.
  • To ensure uninterrupted parent meetings, even during harsh weather conditions.
  • To reduce long-term costs by eliminating the need for temporary structures during annual events.
  • To foster community engagement through multi-purpose usage of the auditorium.
