Project for Developing a School Playground Facility

Background

DeMatha English Medium School, a mission effort of the Trinitarian Fathers, is committed to the holistic development of students in this remote village of Assam. As part of our vision for nurturing students’ physical health, teamwork, and sportsmanship, we seek to develop a well-equipped playground.

Currently, our school lacks a proper playground facility, leaving students with very limited space for physical activities and sports. The absence of proper sports infrastructure limits their physical development and deprives them of essential life skills such as teamwork, discipline, and perseverance.

This project aims to provide the necessary infrastructure by developing:

• Leveling the ground for sports activities
• A basketball court
• A volleyball court
• A football ground

This facility will provide students with ample opportunity to engage in organized sports, physical training sessions, and recreational activities.

Objectives of the Project

• To create a safe and well-leveled playground space for students.
• To promote physical fitness, sportsmanship, and teamwork through regular sports activities.
• To host inter-house and inter-school sports competitions.
• To comply with CBSE norms requiring schools to promote physical education.
• To enhance student engagement and reduce stress through outdoor activities.
