We were entrusted with a parish and school by the Archdiocese, at Tamulpur in Baksa Dt., a remote village about 90 km away from Guwahati where we engage in pastoral work, evangelization of the local people, supporting Christians in difficult situations, social work, boarding for boys, education of children and youth, and much more. Catholics in our parish are mainly from the tribal communities of Santals and Adivasis. Most of these people remain very poor and live in interior villages where there is less chance of electricity, education and hospitals. The majority suffer from malnutrition. Many perish due to malaria and other diseases. Lack of education has generated a negative impact on their lifestyle.
India is a country where, in cities, young people are drawn towards fast money, growing corporate culture and imitation of the worldly lifestyle, leading to increased addictions and getting into quick relationships both physically and emotionally. In rural areas, lack of education, poverty, narrow mindedness, oppression and anti-social practices are quite prevalent. Youth are growing in an environment where a high population dictates the norms of life and success. Consequently, extreme competition in education and career is making many youth disappointed, depressed, mentally disturbed and also causing migration in huge numbers. Political chaos, corruption and communal disharmony are on the rise.

He was born on 29th June 1998. He hails from Kallur, Thrissur, Kerala. He is from the Archdiocese of Thrissur, Kerala. His father is a businessman and mother is a housewife. He has a younger brother studying BBA and my younger sister studying in +2. He traces his interest to become a priest from childhood onwards. He wanted to be a missionary priest. He made his simple profession on 10 December 2018. He is doing his first year of philosophy course.
Edwin is hardworking, prayerful, helping, caring, simple, approachable, free with everyone, obedient and sincere about his life. He is good at sports and other extracurricular activities.

Bro. Sushil Singh was born on 2nd Feb 1997. He hails from the diocese of Berhampur, Odisha, India. His father is no more and mother is a house wife.
He has five brothers and two sisters. Three brothers and two sisters have got married. The froth brother has completed his university studies. He traces his interest to become a priest from childhood onwards. He wants to be missionary priest. He made his simple profession on 10 December 2018
He is pursuing his philosophical studies and has completed his first year of his three year cycle philosophy/degree program.
Sushil is hard working, prayerful, committed, simple, approachable, obedient, humble and sincere about his life as well his Holy vocation. He has a sense of humour. He is good at sports, singing, and dance.

Abin Varghese was born on 11 th February 1996. He hails from Kottayam district, Kerala , India.He belongs to the Arch-diocese of Ernakulam- Angamaly. His father is a merchant and mother is a housewife. He has an elder brother. Abin had an ardent desire to be a priest from his earlychildhood. He likes to work among the poor people as a missionary. He made his first professionon 7 th May 2016
Currently he is doing his year of regency or service in Assam and will begin his theologicalstudies in the month of June 2020.Abin is jovial in nature. He is helpful, kind, loving, approachable, and good at studies. He is agood preacher. He has a great sense of belongingness to the community.

He was born on June 7, 1997 at Kasaragod in Kerala. He hails from the archdiocese of Thellichery.He has a mother and brother. Mother is a tailor and brother works in a textile shop. His father expired when he was very young. He wants to become a missionary priest.
He made his first profession on 21 April 2018.He joined seminary after his Plus two studies. He completed five years of formation, at present he is doing his philosophical studies and his undergraduate studies. He completed second year of philosophy and preparing to enter for third year.Bro. Bibin is kind, loving, responsible, sober, hardworking, pastoral, spiritual and co-operative. He is very social and approachable.
